The Mackinac Sauna

The Manistee, with somewhere to put your clothes.
The MACKINAC is our cornerstone sauna with a 4' changing room built on — twelve feet overall. Same hot room that most of our customers pick, now with a dry place to undress, a bench to sit on, and a full glass wall running the length of both rooms.
A space to cool down and store your robe. The changing room is ideal in the colder climates and those looking from some extra space to enjoy the sauna experience.
- Seats 4–6 adults in the hot room, on three full-length 6'4" benches.
- Full glass window wall across both the hot room and the changing room.
- A real changing room — 4' of it, with bench lighting underneath and a 110V outlet.
- Low-voltage LED throughout, so the whole building has one lighting language.

Electrical & Site Requirements
Electrical: 240V, 50A regular (non-GFCI) breaker minimum · 6/3 with ground wire, minimum, for the stove. The changing room's 110V outlet and low-voltage lighting run on a separate circuit — talk to your electrician about both on the same visit. Sauna heaters trip GFCI breakers by design, which is why saunas and cold plunges need different circuits.
Site: Flat, level pad sized to the full 12' × 8' footprint and rated for 5,800 lbs. At this weight we recommend a poured concrete pad or engineered footings — standard residential decking is not rated for it, and compacted gravel needs to be done properly. At fourteen feet the path in matters: gates, side yards, and slope all get confirmed on your site walk, months before we build.
Delivery & Lead Time
Hand-built to order — 10 to 12 weeks from deposit for most builds. Our crew delivers and sets the sauna, levels it, confirms the door swings true, and walks you through the stove and controller.
$400 curbside delivery within 2 hours of Grand Rapids. Outside that radius, delivery and installation are quoted individually — we ship nationally and we'll give you a real number on your consult call.
Warranty
- 5 years — structure, craftsmanship, roof, and base
- 2 years — electrical components
- 2 years — hardware (hinges, latches, minor adjustments)
Manufacturer warranties on IKI stoves and HUUM Wi-Fi controllers transfer to you. Support comes from the shop that built it — a builder answers, not a call center.
Pair It With a Cold Plunge
Contrast therapy — heat, then cold — is the full practice, and we build both sides of it in one shop, in the same cedar and the same stain. With a changing room already in the plan, adding the plunge makes this a complete installation. See the Cold Plunge.
Want to get the process started or have a question? Book a consultation call — we'll evalate your site, confirm your electrical, and get you on the list.
